E C Straiton & Partners Ltd is a mixed veterinary practice (pets, farm animals and horses) that also advertises a 24-hour emergency team. In the latest reviews, owners most often describe thorough, unhurried consultations (for example, detailed annual vaccination checks and vets “really listening” to concerns), plus practical support outside appointments—such as being able to send photos for advice and getting guidance by phone without being pushed into a visit. Several reviews also highlight end-of-life care and continuity with named vets and nurses over longer treatment journeys.

We will never be able to thank this amazing veterinary practice enough. The team have treated Nellie ( and supported us ) since October. Everyone we have met reception, nurses and vets have been amazing. Special thanks to nurses Nicky, Emma and rest of nursing team not able to remember all your names. To vets Oli and Lewis who were there from day one. Thankfully Nellie is doing well now. You treated Nellie with such kidness like she was your own dog. She has grown to love you all. I honestly think if we had gone to any other vets we would not have been so lucky. Thank you everyone

Excellent expertise from all vets. Special mention for Lewis who is very kind and also immediately correctly diagnosed my elderly dog with vestibular syndrome when another practice had completely failed to do even after blood tests and full body scan!

I have been coming here for a long time for various pets, always had a good experience. With all the pets particularly cats with us we have always felt like they are on good hands and receiving relevant care. Along with that all of the staff we have met have all been very pleasant from reception to surgery.

Brought my little dog for his annual vaccination. No waiting time hardly. Receptionist very friendly and helpful. Vet carried out very thorough checks. Very charming. Great experience generally for both dog and owner.

Always see a fantastic vet, never kept waiting and received amazing end of life care for my previous two goldies from here. Love that they provide their own ‘out of hours’ care too, absolutely recommend!

Best vet practice I have ever been to. The vets are so knowledgeable & thorough in what they do, and the receptionists & vet nurses are so friendly & empathetic. I especially love the cat clinic they offer on certain days, which is a period where you can take cats in with no dogs present in the practice. I don’t make use of this as my cats are fine with other dogs in the clinic, but I imagine this must be so beneficial to those cats who are more anxious or traumatised by dogs. I’m originally from Cannock & my family always used E C Straiton for their dogs. When I moved to Penkridge 2 years ago, I registered my cat with this practice & they’ve always been wonderful. I now have 4 cats in total (this wasn’t planned but here we are! 😅) When I found & rescued a stray kitten 10 days ago (now called Obi), I brought him straight into E C Straiton for a check up, and flea & worming treatment. He had a few fleas on him (which panicked me slightly as the last thing I want is my other 3 catching them & a flea infestation in my home!). I bathed him as soon as I got home, dried him, & immediately gave him the treatments. Well I bathed & combed Obi last night, finding dead fleas & remaining flea dirt (proof that the flea treatment from the vets is highly effective!). My other 3 cats are treated for fleas & worms every 3 months too, despite them being indoor cats. To my surprise after combing them all, every cat is flea free!! Even the cat who is due his flea/worm treatment again today & who has been around Obi the most! Which is amazing as it really does show how good the flea treatment is from E C Straiton & that it does last for the full 3 months! It’s made me feel at ease knowing I’m paying a bit extra to ensure they’re all safe (rather than the cheap rubbish you can buy from stores). I’ve also taken Obi back to E C Straiton 2 more times in the last week, after he developed a nasty ulcer on his mouth. The lovely vets, Ollie & Ed, were incredible. So knowledgeable, so thorough, not in any rush to get through the appointment for their next one. Obi is now on pain relief, antibiotics & antiviral medication. I also love that they offer their own emergency vet care during out of hours, & that they allow me to email photos across to reception, & take the time to listen & advise me over the phone whenever I have concerns. Unlike some other vets, they don’t immediately urge me to bring the cats in. Their treatment prices may be slightly higher than some other practices, but they won’t unnecessarily encourage you to come in for a consultation or prescribe any medication if they genuinely don’t feel it’s needed. This massively stands them out from other vet practices because you can see that they honestly care about their customers, financial barriers that can come with pet care, & the pets they tend to. Lastly, I’m SO excited to hear that they’ll be working with the pet health club soon!! Overall, this is the best vet practice & I would recommend them to anyone. The staff are all amazing, & I sincerely thank you for delivering such high quality care to my fur babies. ❤️

The vet I saw with my dog for her annual check up was excellent . He gave her a very thorough examination and really listened to my concerns. He was very gentle with Tess and seemed to genuinely like her.
